Before you read this idea, I want to make things super clear, I think the main focus of PvP changes right now should go towards improving our existing PvP activities between the Wilderness and existing safe PvP minigames, before we think about new avenues of PvP.
Plus any new activities will split the current PvP population even more. Now is not the right time for this concept.
That said, I had a funny thought recently.
New PvP minigame:
Wars
Just Wars.
Or y'know, we could call it Multi Wars... or keep the name Clan Wars. It's just an extension of Clan Wars.
...
You get a Soul Wars lobby of two randomly assigned teams. 100 players per team for a total of 200 players.
The two teams fight to the death in multi and that's the only goal.
There is a 15 minute timer. At the end it's battle royale style fog that kills everyone.
- Style 1: Everyone gets 5 lives (arena mode)
- Style 2: The team with the most kills wins (team death match)
- Style 3: First team to 100 kills wins (team death match arena)
- Style 4: Your team gets points equal to the 10% of the combat level of players you kill. Most points wins.
Give it a reward shop so people play it.
The premise of Multi Wars is that if players can enjoy the experience in a safe PvP minigame, that could be their gateway to try it out later in a real Wilderness clan scenario.
So many PKers tell me how much fun clan multi in the Wilderness is. This is guaranteed to be great.
Quite literally, Jagex could just take the Clan Wars Purple Portal and set it up with basic minigame infrastructure.
- Set it up with a lobby on one world.
- Give it a standard ruleset (15 minute team death match most kills).
- Choose a random arena every round.
- Reward shop.
- Done.
This minigame is pretty much already fully created. It just needs a viable reward shop attached to it and players would enjoy it.
You can visit the wiki page for Clan Wars to see just how much is already created.
There's a lot of unused space in the caves below the Ferox Enclave. That's the perfect space for the lobby.
Or so that's what I would say, but before Jagex considers converting this into a real PvP minigame, I think Jagex would do better to first improve the Wilderness and our other PvP minigames.
Why make this one if we can't make the other ones good?
