Polls have always been the backbone of Old School RuneScape, giving you the final say on what content makes it into the game and making sure it stays true to the spirit of Old School.
Except for when it comes to PvP updates! It has really ruined the PvP scene in Oldschool Runescape completely!
If you've seen Chdata's video or heard his PvP Poll Deep Dive, he explains why most zero-sum PvP balance changes are projected to almost unanimously fail all polls.
And in practice, they actually have had an extremely spotty history in our polling system.
With this style of polling, we can now determine what kind of PvP update the playerbase would most like to see, and prioritize developing the #1 most requested PvP update.
This allows us to have some degree of confidence in the desirability of a particular proposed PvP update, meaning we shouldn't have to go years without meaningful PvP updates anymore.
Example Poll #1
PvP Update Ranking Poll: What should we focus on first for the future of PvP?
- The top choice takes priority.
- The lower choice will still be considered for the future.
-
Focus on revitalizing the Wilderness
-
Focus on revitalizing existing safe PvP minigames

I'd prefer dev time be spent on non-PvP content instead (No Vote)
Example Poll #2
PvP Update Ranking Poll: Rank these potential PvP updates.
- The top update takes priority and will appear in the next greenlight poll.
- The lowest ranks show disinterest.
- Updates that do not make rank #1 can still be considered in a future ranking poll.
- If any of the "No Vote" options make it to rank #1, they will be skipped for the next highest ranking PvP update.
- Est. # months: This is an estimate of how much dev time the proposal might take to produce.
- These estimates are guesses, not guarantees.
